On October 15th, Sediver successfully hosted a grand celebration to mark two significant milestones: the 20th Anniversary of Sediver’s operations in Shanghai and Start-up Ceremony of the new third production line. The event not only showcased Sediver’s outstanding contributions and technological innovations in the field of insulators but also highlighted the company’s long-term commitment to sustainability. Guests from Europe, suppliers and clients from industry, and over 400 employees gathered to witness this historic moment.
With over 100 years history in Glass manufacturing, Sediver is a global leader in the research, development, and manufacturing of high-voltage insulation technologies, specializing in toughened glass suspension insulators. With production and research facilities in France, the United States, Italy, and China, Sediver serves over 150 countries worldwide. Thanks to its strong technical expertise and continuous innovation, Sediver has become a dominant force in the high-voltage, ultra-high-voltage, and extra-high-voltage transmission lines sectors.
The celebration was filled with various activities, seamlessly connected throughout the event:
at the very beginning of the ceremony, Sediver China CEO Paolo Daneu and Group CEO Erik Göthlin gave welcoming speeches.
Paolo Daneu expressed pride in the company’s development and extended heartfelt thanks to the partners and employees for their long-standing support. He noted that Sediver’s success in China over the past 20 years is not only reflected in technological advancements and market expansion but is also rooted in a strong team and stable management. With the launch of the new production line, Paolo is confident in the company’s future growth in both the Chinese and global markets. He looks forward to continuing partnerships to create an even brighter future.
Erik Göthlin focused on the successful development of Sediver’s Shanghai plant in his remarks. He highlighted that the Shanghai plant has grown into one of Sediver’s largest and most advanced production facilities globally, gaining customers’ trust through high-quality products and excellent service. Erik emphasized that the key to Sediver’s success lies not only in advanced products but also in the dedication of the team and continuous improvement. Looking ahead, he eagerly anticipates celebrating Sediver’s 100th Anniversary of the first glass insulator manufactured with everyone in the near future.
After welcoming speeches, a lively lion dance, symbolizing prosperity and success, added a lively atmosphere to the event. Both Paolo Daneu and Erik Göthlin performed the ceremonial “eye-dotting” of the lions, signifying future success and good fortune for Sediver.
Following the formal ceremony, representatives from the Italian Trade Agency, Mr. Diego Coccato ITA Deputy Trade Commissioner and Huang Lianfeng from the Shanghai Hangzhou Bay Economic and Technological Development Zone gave speeches, congratulating Sediver on its success and expressing their hopes for future cooperation. An inspiring video followed, chronicling Sediver China’s 20-year journey and future aspirations.
The event then moved to the highly anticipated recognition segment. Sediver honored its dedicated employees, who have been with the company for over two decades, with long-service awards. These individuals’ loyalty and dedication have been the foundation of Sediver’s success. They are not just employees: they are the witnesses and drivers of Sediver’s growth. Every innovation and breakthrough are inseparable from their hard work.
In addition, Sediver awarded its long-term suppliers with “Outstanding Partner Awards” to recognize their invaluable contributions and support. These partners have consistently delivered high-quality products and services, enabling Sediver to continuously improve its product quality and production efficiency. Looking ahead, Sediver will continue to work closely with these exceptional partners, striving for excellence and innovation to further advance the industry.
The core of the celebration was the start-up of the New Third Production Line. Erik Göthlin, Paolo Daneu, and five distinguished guests conducted a ceremonial sand-pouring, symbolizing the official launch of the production line. The new line represents a significant enhancement of Sediver’s manufacturing capabilities in China and will allow the company to offer more efficient and environmentally friendly insulation solutions to its customers.
To conclude the event, a celebratory cake and champagne were prepared. Guests joined in cutting the cake and raising a toast to Sediver’s continued success. Though the celebration drew to a close, the excitement and atmosphere reached its peak.
